The Inbetweeners Movie Sequel On The Cards
"I don't want to give too much away at this stage but yes, we have been developing an idea for a sequel. We miss working with Simon, Joe, James and even Blake too much not to give it a go," said Damon Beesley, who co-wrote the original Inbetweeners movie with Iain Morris, as well as creating the sitcom that kicked it all off. The pair are reported to be anxious not to ruin the franchise by rushing the film, and want to make sure they tell a good story, as well as making Britain laugh, of course. They've confirmed that they want to "make sure that we can do justice to a follow-up."
A U.S version of the TV series has recently been aired, and the first movie is set to hit American cinemas on September 7. The film was a massive success in the U.K, making over 45 million, and becoming the highest grossing U.K comedy film in history. It will be interesting to see how the crude style of comedy translates to the U.S, with plenty of British remakes not quite making the grade.
