The Hunger Games' Jennifer Lawrence Blasts 'Disgusting' Paparazzi
The Hunger Games hits cinemas worldwide this weekend and is likely to make its lead star Jennifer Lawrence one of the most recognizable actresses in the world, overnight. In fact, the 21-year-old is already beginning to experience life as one of Hollywood's most exciting stars, reports E! Online.
During a Hunger Games press day, held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Lawrence explained the premise of her movie in which children fight in reality television death matches, adding, "It's kind of the same about paparazzi and tabloids. It's like, yeah it's disgusting; I wish that we could get away and get rid of it. But it's what people want, it's what makes money". Lawrence continued, "We can bash the paparazzi as much as we want, but they're getting paid by the tabloids because the tabloids are making money because we are buying those magazines". Though nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Winter's Bone, the actress has never experienced the level of interest focused on her in the past couple of weeks, but says she's handling it pretty well, saying, "I haven't actually had any swarms (of photographers). I get the creepy ones that hide in the bushes outside my house that I don't see.I don't know how I get to trade them. I'd much rather walk through a wall of people than to like.see horrible pictures of me show up that I had no idea were being taken".
One area of her personal life that Lawrence has managed to keep relatively private is her relationship with British actor Nicholas Hoult, whom she met whilst filming X Men: First Class in 2010.
