The Human League - The Human League Pull Out Of 1980s Festival

The Human League have left the organisers of an 1980s nostalgia tour scrambling for a last-minute replacement after the New Wave stars pulled themselves off the bill.

The Don't You Want Me hitmakers were set to join acts including Howard Jones and Information Society on the Regeneration Tour across the U.S. this summer (13), but they have dropped out of the line-up.

In a post on the band's page, the British stars write, "We are sorry to announce that we will not now be touring the U.S. this summer as we had planned. We are really very sorry about this cancellation, all of us were really looking forward to coming over and playing for you."

Andy Bell of Erasure has now suggested he may take their place.

In a statement, he says, "We've been getting a lot of questions from fans about the Regeneration Tour planned for this summer. Simply put, I'd hoped to be part of this tour but because of the ongoing confusion over who will actually be performing, I cannot commit until a confirmed line-up of artists and itinerary are presented."

Reunited electro stars Ultravox had also signed up for the concerts, but bowed out of the trek in March (13).
