Liam Neeson - 'The Grey' Star Liam Neeson Considers Turning Muslim

Liam Neeson, fresh from another meal of hearty wolf meat no doubt, has suggested he's considering giving up Catholicism to become a Muslim, according to the UK's Sun newspaper. The 59 year-old Irish actor has been filming in the Turkish city of Istanbul and claims that he's been inspired by the traditions and rituals of the heavily Muslim metropolis.
"The Call to Prayer happens five times a day and for the first week it drives you crazy, and then it just gets into your spirit and it's the most beautiful, beautiful thing," he said, "There are 4,000 mosques in the city. Some are just stunning and it really makes me think about becoming a Muslim." Born in Northern Ireland, Neeson's was raised as a devout Catholic and served as an alter boy, but in the same interview he revealed how interested in wider faith he was, claiming he was more than open to other ideas and beliefs. "I was reared a Catholic but I think every day we ask ourselves, not consciously, what are we doing on this planet? What's it all about?" he questioned, "I'm constantly reading books on God or the absence of God and atheism."
These latest sound bites are wholly more reflective than recently when the star said that in filming for his current film 'The Grey' - due out tomorrow, January 27th - he ate the cooked flesh of a wolf, claiming it was "quite nice." A tough guy with inner spirituality.
