The Game - The Game Won't Face Charges Over Twitter Controversy
Rapper The Game has escaped criminal charges after a friend posted the contact details of a sheriff's office on the star's Twitter.com page, causing the phone lines to become jammed.
The Dreams hitmaker, real name Jayceon Taylor, was accused of telling his online followers to call into the Compton, California station last week (12Aug11) in a bid to land an internship with him.
Sheriff's Captain Mike Parker slammed the star for his actions, while police were said to be considering filing charges against him.
The rapper insisted a childhood pal was the one tweeting to fans and on Wednesday (17Aug11), cops decided against taking the case any further, after receiving an apology from the hip-hop star during an interview on Cnn.
Captain Parker says in a statement, "The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department will not be seeking criminal charges. Based upon our investigation, as well as consultation with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, the Lasd considers the criminal investigation into this matter closed."
