The Fall - The Fall and The Undertones pay tribute

The Fall and The Undertones paid tributes to late DJ John Peel at a fundraising concert this week.

The bands - two of the iconic DJ's favuorite - performed an exclusive gig in Norwich's Sound and Vision Centre in Norfolk on Wednesday (10.10.12) to raise money for the Centre for Creative Arts in Suffolk, England, with all the proceeds going towards renovating the building.

John's wife Sheila was over the moon when she found out her husband's favourite bands were getting involved with the cause, saying: ''I'm so pleased that The Fall and The Undertones have agreed to play as everybody knows that they were two bands very close to John's heart it'll be a great gig.''

The legendary BBC radio 1 star - who died from a heart attack in 2004 - had an extensive music collection, including 26,000 LPs, 40,000 singles and a huge volume of CDs.

John had so many records earlier this year digital arts service The Space decided to give fans access to an interactive 'John Peel Record Collection', publishing 100 titles a week from his massive collection.

Visitors will be able to browse through the artists and albums and even get a glimpse at John's personal notes and home footage.

The performances from earlier this week are also available to view on www.thespace.org
