The Edge Stuns Glastonbury Crowd With Muse U2 Tribute

U2's Glastonbury dream was reignited on Saturday night (26Jun10) when THE EDGE joined British rockers MUSE onstage for a rendition of WHERE THE STREETS HAVE NO NAME.

The Irish band was forced to scrap their Friday evening (25Jun10) appearance at the U.K. music festival after frontman Bono was admitted to hospital for an operation on his back last month (May10).

Damon Albarn's band Gorillaz stepped in to take their place, but U2's presence was still felt at the festival.

During their encore at the bash at Worthy Farm in Somerset, south-west England, Muse frontman Matt Bellamy announced a special guest, telling the crowd, "This is our friend The Edge."

The guitarist then took centre stage as the band performed U2's 1987 track Where The Streets Have No Name.

Saturday at Glastonbury was a day for star-studded guest appearances - Kylie Minogue made her debut at the festival to perform Any Which Way with the Scissor Sisters.

And the Aussie pop star stunned revellers when she kissed frontwoman Ana Matronic, as well as singer Jake Shears.

Minogue, who pulled out of a headlining slot at the festival in 2005 after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, was thrilled with the set, telling her Twitter.com followers after the show: "All I can say is WOW!!!! Thank you Scissor Sisters for an amazing night!! Love you."
