The Comeback Begins: Katie Holmes Heads To Broadway

Katie Holmes will star in a new play on Broadway this autumn; 'Dead Accounts' written by Theresa Rebeck.

The 'Dawson's Creek' actress made her Broadway debut in 2008 when she appeared in a revival of Arthur Miller's 1947 production 'All My Sons' alongside John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Patrick Wilson. 'Dead Accounts' is a dark comedy about a man who returns home to Cincinnati, Ohio (incidentally, the city where Rebeck graduated from high school) with bucket-loads of cash arousing suspicion from her sister (Holmes) who lives with their ageing parents in their family home. The producer reveals that the play will deal with issues surrounding 'corporate greed', 'small town values' and 'whether or not your family will always welcome you back'. Directed by Tony winning Jack O'Brien, the production will show at the Music Box Theatre this year following its winter debut at the Cincinnati Playhouse last year (2011).

Writer Rebeck was nominated for two Emmys for her screenwriting on drama series 'Nypd Blue' and has also written scripts for 'Catwoman', 'Law and Order' and 'Harriet the Spy'. Holmes has recently been filming for a currently untitled project written and directed by Christian Camargo and, while that is in post-production, it has been announced that she will star alongside Chace Crawford in the upcoming romantic comedy 'Responsible Adults'.
