The Coasters frontman Carl Gardner has died, aged 83.
The Yakety Yak singer co-founded the group in 1955 and went on to score hits with songs like Charlie Brown and Poison Ivy.
Gardner and his bandmates were the first group to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
The cause of death had not been determined as WENN went to press, but Gardner had been suffering with congestive heart failure and vascular dementia.
His son, Carl, Jr., currently fronts The Coasters.
It joins '10 Cloverfield Lane' and the upcoming ghost story 'The Conjuring 2'.
A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for true rock 'n' roll lovers.
