The Beach Boys To Perform With Maroon 5 And Foster The People At Grammy Awards

The Beach Boys original line-up is reuniting for the first time in twenty years at this weekend's Grammy Awards. The surviving members will perform a medley of some of their greatest hits, along with Maroon 5 and Foster The People. 2012 also marks the fiftieth anniversary of the Beach Boys' formation.

Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston and David Marks are the only surviving members of the popular band - Dennis and Carl Wilson, two of the founding members, died in 1983 and 1998 respectively. Their unusual guests have attracted criticism online, with Stereogum calling it a possible 'trainwreck'.

Brian spoke about the original group getting back together: 'This anniversary is special to me because I miss the boys and it will be a thrill for me to make a new record and be on stage with them again.' Al Jardine said: 'From our humble beginnings as brothers, cousins and friends, we have been honoured to sing the praises of California, and I'm really excited for our fans to be able to see us again in concert on the world stage.'

The Beach Boys have never won a Grammy but Brian has said that there is 'no hard feelings' towards the snub. They're not the only veteran musicians to perform at the star studded Grammy's - Paul Mccartney will be promoting his new album Kisses From The Bottom; BRUCE SRINGSTEEN will also be promoting his highly anticipated 17th studio album, Wrecking Ball, which will be released on March 6th 2012. Glen Campbell will also perform as part of his Goodbye Tour.
