The Bachelorette Recap: Dolly Parton Gives Emily A Lesson In Love

The Bachelorette's Emily Maynard had a real treat in store for her on Sunday night's episode (May 27, 2012), when she got some lessons in love from the queen of country music. Dolly Parton might know her way around a heart-breaking country anthem but in real life, she has been married for 47 years, so must know the secrets of success when it comes to matters of the heart. She was willing to share some of those secrets with Emily, who is part-way through the process of picking herself a partner on the show.

During Sunday's show, Emily embarked on a date at Dolly Parton's theme park, Dollywood, with the race-car driver Arie Luyendyk Jr. As they sat on the stage where Dolly usually plays, Parton signaled for Arie to scarper for a while so she could have a girly chat with Emily. "I just know true love can last. I've been with my husband for 47 years. We've been happy. So what are you really looking for in a guy?" Emily answered "I think it's that feeling you get when you know you just know" and added that she was looking for someone that she can like as much as she loves. Parton wished her well and reassured her that there is such a thing as everlasting love.

The Dollywood date wasn't the only country music moment in the show, either. Chris Bukowski took Emily to a Luke Bryan concert, where he made a move to kiss her, to the strains of Bryan singing 'Drunk On You' and 'Do I.'
