'The Avengers' Toronto Premiere: Which Actress Stole The Show?
The whirlwind that is 'The Avengers' movie swept through Toronto on Monday evening (April 30, 2012) for its Canadian premiere. The film has already taken over $170 million abroad, with huge markets such as the U.S, Russia, China and Japan ready to add to that total this coming weekend.
It was the turn of Canada to host the latest premiere, with Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk) the most high profile star to make the trip. However, it was the 'How I Met Your Mother' actress Cobie Smulders who stole the headlines with an elegant ensemble of a beige and white dress with beige heels. Given that she stars alongside Scarlett Johansson in The Avengers, Smulders has perhaps been in the shadows during the huge promotional campaign, but it was her night to shine in Toronto. The actress plays S.H.I.E.L.D agent Maria Hill in the movie, who works closely with Samuel L Jackson's Nick Fury. Though Ruffalo and Smulders took care of business in Canada, their co-stars continued to spread the word back home, ahead of the movie's opening on Friday (April 4, 2012). Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans headed to Good Morning America to speak about the flick, which is expected to obliterate its competition at the box-office.
The Avengers - based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name - see's Nick Fury recruit an all-star line-up including Iron man, the Hulk, Thor, Captain America and the Black Widow.
