Sir Paul Mccartney - That'll Be The Day: Paul Mccartney Turns 70-Years-old

Happy Birthday to Sir Paul Mccartney, 50 per cent of the surviving half of The Beatles and legendary songwriter in his own right too. Many would argue that whilst it was John Lennon who perhaps became the truly iconic member of the Fab Four, it was in fact his old school friend who was in the driving seat, with many of the band's finest tracks being written by him, including 'Hey Jude', 'Yesterday' and more cult favourites like 'Blackbird'.
Still as energetic as ever, MCCartney closed the Queen's diamond jubilee concert outside Buckingham Palace in London recently, playing a hit-laden set including his 'James Bond' sound track hit 'Live And Let Die' as well as the likes of 'Let It Be'.
It's songs like these that have, quite rightly, kept MACca in the public eye for almost 50 years now, but he's never really left the experimental side that helped shaped classics Beatles albums like 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' and 'Revolver,' with dalliances in classical music and more electronic-based work as part of The Firemen also among his huge back catalogue. He of course achieved huge success with his group Wings in the 70s too with a hugely panoramic rock sound that rocked from direction to direction. Recently he re-released 'Ram', and album written by he and former wife LINDA MCCARTNEY.
