English tenor PHILIP LANGRIDGE has lost his battle with cancer, aged 70.
The British star, who was one of the leading opera talents in England, passed away on Friday (05Mar10).
Langridge studied at London's Royal Academy of Music and performed around the globe, winning two Grammy Awards.
The singer was handed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) title for his services to music in 1994.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Murray, and their son Jonathan, as well as three children from a previous marriage.
