Teen Choice Awards 2012: Twilight Takes Its Tally To 41

The Twilight franchise took its staggering Teen Choice Awards count to 41 last night (July 22, 2012). At this year's ceremony, the movie's stars, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson took to the stage to accept the Ultimate Choice Award, after a moving montage that began to build the excitement for the remaining instalment in the movie series. Of course, with the introduction of The Hunger Games into the pool of big-money teen movies this year, competition amongst the films and their stars was fierce.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn won the prize for Best Romance movie and Kristen Stewart took home the award for best actress in that category. However, she may be dating her co-star Robert Pattinson off screen but it seems as though they weren't quite able to convert their passion on screen, as the award for the best on-screen kiss went to Hunger Games stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson. The ceremony itself was a star-studded affair, presented by Demi Lovato and accompanied by music from DJ Pauly D. There were also live performances, including a turn from Carly Rae Jepsen, who sang her big summer hit 'Call Me Maybe.' The performance was accompanied by a video of fans and celebrities singing along to the song.

A surprise hit of the evening was the return of No Doubt. Gwen Stefani may somehow have managed not to have aged at all in the last few years but considering that many of the teenagers in attendance would still have been in nappies when No Doubt first found success, their performance went down very well. They played their comeback single 'Settle Down' to huge applause.
