Taylor Swift 's kitten, Meredith, has become a social networking star after the American country singer posted a picture of her on Twitter. The 21-year-old tweeted a photograph of her adopted pet this week - a rare gene mutation breed known as a Scottish Fold, according to the UK's Daily Mail.
The singer caused a stir after uploading the snap of Meredith looking directly down the camera lens, with the caption, "'Hanging out with my new roommate, Meredith". Although a wave of Taylor's 9 million followers began commenting on her new feline friend, the kitten also had a famous admirer. Pop superstar Katy Perry personally tweeted the singer, saying, "Oh My Gosh. Is this kitty for real!?!?", with Swift cheerfully replying, "'Yes! And currently chasing her own tail. Ps I miss you!" Perry, whose husband Russell Brand has a cat named after singer Morrissey, responded, "Uuuuuugggh give me heeeeer!!!"
Meanwhile, Swift continued her Speak Now tour at Houston's Minute Maid Park this past weekend, and was joined by rapper Nelly for a duet of his hit song 'Just a Dream'. The country star has often spoke of her love for hip-hop in recent weeks, and even invited T.I. to join her on-stage just days after his release from prison for violating the terms of his probation.
