Taylor Swift may have thought she was being smart when she quoted Katie Couric, in a Vanity Fair interview, saying “there’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.” That was pretty smart, but Taylor will never be as smart as Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, the women that she was directing it at. Not only are Pohler and Fey, no doubt, every inch the feminist that Taylor is, but they’re a whole lot smarter and funnier; that’s why they’re two of America’s most revered comedians right now. And that’s why everyone fell about laughing at their Golden Globes dig at Taylor Swift.

Taylor Swift did not take kindly to Tina Fey and Amy Pohler mocking her love life at the Golden Globes

In response to Swift’s comments, Amy Poehler told The Hollywood Reporter “Aw, I feel bad if she was upset. I am a feminist and she is a young and talented girl. That being said, I do agree I am going to hell, But for other reasons. Mostly boring tax stuff." Meanwhile, Fey was simply surprised that that was the gag that got all the attention and caused all the offence (they made a joke at Taylor’s expense, suggesting she was something of a man-eater, in case you weren’t aware). “If anyone was going to get mad at us, I thought it would be James Cameron,” said Fey. “I did not see that one coming. It was a joke. It was a light-hearted joke."

The latest news in the world of Taylor Swift’s love life, by the way, is that she probably isn’t dating British songwriter Tom Odell but could be dating British songwriter Ed Sheeran. Who she apparently dated before. Though no one knew anything about it. Watch this space, it’s bound to change again soon.
