Mtv - Taylor Swift Covers Vogue, Talks 'Earth Shattering Heartbreak'
A report on Mtv News today has revealed a taster of Taylor Swift 's interview in February's Vogue magazine. The country music singer was also chosen to be this issue's cover star and used the opportunity to discuss her plans to work in the film industry, as well her forthcoming album release and her love of fashion. She also speaks in depth about what she has learned from past relationships.
Without mentioning any names, Taylor revealed that the next album (the follow up 2010's Speak Now) will focus, thematically on what she describes as an "earth-shattering, not recent, but absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak. And that will turn out to be what the next album is about." She goes on to discuss the sense of catharsis that she gets from the songwriting process: "The only way that I can feel better about myself - pull myself out of that awful pain of losing someone - is writing songs about it to get some sort of clarity."
Swift also talks in the interview about learning from what she refers to as relationship 'red flags'. In other words, the behavioural signs that lead her to realize that a man is not right for her. Some of these 'red flags' include somebody that falls in love before he really gets to know her, someone who doesn't understand her need to have security and a guy who puts her down. As well as working on the new album, Taylor Swift is also reported to be playing the role of Eponine in the forthcoming screen adaptation of Les Miserables, alongside Hugh Jackman and RUSSELL CROWE.
