Bosses at U.S. retailer Target have joined editors at Vogue magazine in distancing themselves from celebrity photographer Terry Richardson following his recent sex scandal.
The snapper, who has photographed the likes of Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Miley Cyrus, was under fire last month (Apr14), after model Emma Appleton shared a screenshot of a text message she allegedly received from Richardson via Twitter.com, in which he reportedly wrote, "If I can f**k you I will book you in ny (New York) for a shoot for Vogue."
While Appleton, who subsequently deleted both the photo and her Twitter account, maintained the text was real, Richardson's representative denied the allegation.
The controversy prompted editors at high fashion magazine Vogue to cut ties with Richardson, in a statement which reads: "The last assignment Terry Richardson had for US Vogue appeared in the July 2010 issue and we have no plans to work with him in the future."
Now executives at popular retail store Target are following in Vogue editors' footsteps by also distancing themselves from the controversial photographer.
Target spokesman Joshua Thomas says in a statement, "We worked with Terry on a campaign for one of our limited-edition collaborations. We have no plans to work with him in the future."
Just after the announcement, new photos shot by Richardson of pop star Rita Ora were posted on his blog, in which the singer shows off her body in a series of risque pictures.
In one shot, Ora dons a sheer bra, with her hands tucked in her pants, while another features the R.I.P. singer only wearing Richardson's signature flannel shirt to cover her otherwise exposed breasts.
A sleekly made thriller with a sparky sense of humour, this is also a rare action movie that has something important to say.
