'Tamara Drewe' Set For London Premiere
In a recent interview with Time Out London, Arterton explained how she had initial reservations about playing the part of Tamara, she said, "At the start, I wasn't sure if I wanted to do the film. I really liked the script and I knew that I could do it but I had a little bit of apprehension. I'm not sure why. Then they sent me the comic, and that was the deal-maker. I've always loved Thomas Hardy (the book is inspired by Far From The Madding Crowd) and I just fell in love with the comic".
When asked why he decided to adapt the novel for screen, Frears told The Telegraph "somebody sent me a script of it and I said, 'Oh yes, of course!' It was sexy and it was funny. I just thought, this is heaven". 'Tamara Drewe' it is due for release on Friday 10th September 2010.
