Take That Reunite With Williams On Children In Need Concert Stage

The Take That star organised the event for Britain's Children In Need foundation, and kicked off the night with a rousing rendition of Greatest Day with his reunited group at London's Albert Hall.

Barlow then invited ex-Take That star Williams to join the band onstage, announcing, "What a perfect night for us to introduce an old friend."

Fans went wild as Williams, who left the boy band in 1995 to pursue a solo career, walked onstage and embraced his former groupmates.

Take That then headed backstage, allowing Williams to delight the audience with two of his new tracks, Bodies and You Know Me.

The Angels hitmaker later admitted he was holding back tears moments before reuniting with his old pals onstage.

He explained, "I started tearing up just before I came on, and the lads were singing and knowing it was just about to happen and knowing what the reactions were going to be like, and then all my team were like 'Please don't cry!'

"And I think we should have milked it for a lot longer than we actually did. I think Gaz (Gary), in his wisdom, went, 'Right, we should get off now, let the lad do his singing. That's the first time in 15 years; we should have at least stayed there for 10 minutes."

The night also featured an unlikely collaboration between Dame Shirley Bassey and U.K. rapper Dizzee Rascal, who teamed up for a new take on the veteran entertainer's classic hit Diamonds Are Forever.

The night's most emotional moment came as Barlow dedicated the Take That hit Rule The World to his dad, Colin, who died last month (Oct09).

He said, "This song is dedicated to everybody who's lost somebody they love. Dad, this one's for you."

Other acts on the bill included Sir Paul MCCartney, Muse, Leona Lewis, Lily Allen, Snow Patrol and Cheryl Cole.
