Suze Orman - Suze Orman To Host Money Show On Oprah Winfrey Network
SUZE ORMAN, the American television personality and host of 'The Suze Orman Show' on CNBC, is the latest presenter to be snapped up by OPRAH WINFREY's new cable channel 'OWN', reports the New York Times. The 59-year-old will front a new show named 'Money Class' which is scheduled to premiere in the fall.
The presenter, who also works as a financial advisor, will visit families who have run into money trouble and offer them advice on how to set financial goals. The daytime EMMY AWARD winner has written seven consecutive New York Times Best Sellers and is recognised as the most successful fundraiser in the history of public television. Her current program, 'The Suze Orman Show' is likely to come to an end once 'Money Class' premieres but a spokesperson for CNBC noted that she is still "under contract". Before news of the new show broke, Orman posted a message on her Twitter page that read, "The woman responsible for all the programming on OWN. One of my favourite people in the world. Lisa Erspamer". On the day of the cable channel's launch, she tweeted, "Off to OWN to watch the programming start. Tune in everyone at noon et 9pt time and be part of history".
The cable channel, which began broadcasting on 1st January 2011, has been well received in its first week on the air. OWN currently features show such as 'Dr Phil', 'Kidnapped by the Kids', and 'Mystery Diagnosis'.
