Steve Jobs - Suspect Pleads No Contest To Steve Jobs Burglary

23 November 2012

A Californian man has pleaded no contest to a burglary charge stemming from a break-in at the home of late Apple founder Steve Jobs over the summer (12).

Kariem MCFarlin, 35, has been convicted of eight counts of residential burglary and one count of selling stolen property stemming from a spate of thefts across California, including a break-in at Jobs' home in Palo Alto in July (12).

MCFarlin took the late technology mogul's wallet and driving licence, as well as numerous Apple products and jewellery.

He agreed a plea deal with prosecutors over the Jobs break-in, as well as other burglaries dating back to 2011.

MCFarlin was convicted at Santa Clara County Superior Court in California on Wednesday (21Nov12) and now faces up to seven years and eight months in prison. The sentence will be handed out on 17 January (13).

Jobs lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in October, 2011, aged 56. He will be portrayed by Ashton Kutcher in an upcoming film, while acclaimed screenwriter Aaron Sorkin is also said to be working on a biopic.
