The heir to the throne was targeted in a plot concocted by Mark Colborne, 37, who detailed plans to gun down the Prince in a diary extract which was read out during his trial at London's Old Bailey court.

He was also accused of acquiring chemicals to make cyanide for an alleged plot to murder victims from ethnic minorities, and on Tuesday (22Sep15), Colborne was found guilty of a charge of preparing terrorist acts.

The judge overseeing the case remanded him in custody ahead of sentencing on 3 November (15).
