Susan Sarandon - Susan Sarandon Has Phoned Tapped By The White House?
Susan Sarandon claims her left-wing activism has led the United States government to wire-tap her phone. During a Q&A session at the Tribeca Film Festival on Sunday (April 22, 2012), the Thelma & Louise star told the audience that she knew the White House have her under surveillance, reports the Huffington Post.
Sarandon - who was taking part in the session with documentary filmmaker Michael Moore - explained, "We know we're under surveillance.I've had my phone tapped.I was denied a security clearance to go to the White House and I don't know why". Moore - who directed the 2004 documentary Fahrenheit 9/11 - believes he was the target of a "disinformation campaign", saying, "I was told this by some people in the Bush administration. They went bonkers when 'Fahrenheit' came out and thought it would throw the election to Kerry". Moore has been a liberal activist behind the camera for many years, while Sarandon has also been active with political campaigns since the 1980's. She joined a rally in Washington D.C. against the invasion of Iraq in 2002, yelling, "Let us resist this war.Let us hate war in all its forms, whether the weapon used is a missile or an airplane".
In 2011, the Hollywood actress was forced to apologize after calling Pope Benedict Xv1 a "Nazi".
