Ringo Starr - Surviving Beatles Pay Tribute To Victor Spinetti
Surviving Beatles Sir Paul Mccartney and Ringo Starr have paid tribute to former collaborator Victor Spinetti.
The veteran Welsh actor died earlier this week (begs18Jun12) at the age of 82 after losing his battle with prostate cancer.
Spinetti befriended the Fab Four after appearing in their 1964 feature film A Hard Day's Night, and the partnership continued when he starred in their next two productions, Help! and Magical Mystery Tour.
Now the two remaining Beatles have offered up their condolences to Spinetti, with MCCartney hailing his "irreverent wit".
He says, "Victor was a fine man, a great pal and a fantastic actor and someone I am proud to have known for many years. His irreverent wit and exuberant personality will remain in my memory forever.
"I will miss his loyal friendship, as will all the others who were lucky enough to know and love the wonderful Mr. Spinetti."
Starr adds, "It was a pleasure the time we worked with Victor. He was a good man. Peace and love."
