Superbowl 'Snubs' Britneyby Contributor | 17 January 2007
Britney Spears was turned down from performing at the Superbowl in the US due to her recent partying antics, it has been reported.
Since her split with second husband Kevin Federline the 25-year-sold singer has been photographed on numerous occasions while out late at night with friends.
Pictures have appeared of a knickerless Britney getting out of cars and looking worse for wear and, on one occasion, with just one stocking on.
It seems that it has all been too much for the organisers of the Superbowl, America's most-watched sporting event.
According to the New York Daily News Britney's people were turned down flat when they expressed an interest in her performing.
"She's too much of a train wreck," an insider told the paper. "Besides, we already have Paris Hilton."
In a move that is surely set to irk Britney, who is friends with Paris, the hotel heiress is said to be "on board" to appear in promotional material.
Organisers will no doubt be keen to keep the event squeaky clean following the criticism they received after Janet Jackson, who performed with Justin Timberlake at the 2004 event, mistakenly flashed her right breast on stage.
