Strokes Have "No Idea" About Next Album

Strokes">The Strokes have "no idea" what is going on with their next album, according to ALBERT HAMMOND JR.

The band's guitarist told Pitchfork that no decisions have been made about the album, which would be the group's fourth.

However he also dismissed rumours that the band have fallen out, saying that despite the lack of plans everything is "great".

"They're still my friends. I just talked to them the other day, we definitely talk about things," he said.

Hammond Jr added that it was not his place to talk about the groups plans until something was "concrete".

The guitarist has recently completed his currently untitled second solo album which he hopes will be released in the spring.

His "close friend" Sean Lennon plays piano on the album's instrumental.

Meanwhile, Green Day have hit the studios to record the follow up to 2004's AMERICAN IDIOT.

Earlier this year the band revealed that they had approximately 45 songs to choose from for the new album.

According to NME, the band has found a novel way of dealing with the extra material - releasing it under another name.

The band are rumoured to have formed a 1960s style rock and roll group and released some tracks on the internet.

A six-song album has been released online under the name FOXBORO HOT TUBS.

GREEN DAY have not confirmed any involvement with the project.

Previously they have released songs under the name THE NETWORK.
