Stone Takes Credit For Labeouf/mulligan Romance

WALL STREET: MONEY NEVER SLEEPS director OLIVER STONE was "thrilled" when on screen lovers CAREY MULLIGAN and SHIA LABEOUF began a real-life romance - because he played a major role in setting them up.
The Transformers star began dating British beauty Mulligan last year (09) while filming Stone's Wall Street sequel - and the filmmaker claims he played matchmaker, insisting the romance "was all thanks to me".
And he wasn't bothered about mixing work with pleasure because LaBeouf and Mulligan's chemistry made love scenes all the more believable.
He tells People.com, "You could see their chemistry right away, and it was pretty powerful. They were completely professional on the set, but there was no mistaking what was happening.
"I was thrilled when I realised they were going to be an item. It just made their scenes together all the better - especially the love scenes. Let's just say it was no stretch for them."
