Stone Roses - Stone Roses Fans Caught Out In Ticket Scam

Hundreds of fans of reunited cult rockers the Stone Roses are missing out on the band's huge hometown shows in England this weekend (29Jun12-01Jul12) after falling victim to a ticket scam.
The Fools Gold hitmakers announced last year (11) they were reforming after 16 years for three massive outdoor shows in Manchester.
The news sparked an online scramble for tickets and all 240,000 were snapped up in less than an hour, smashing the U.K. concert sales record previously held by Oasis.
Now it's emerged hundreds of fans who bought tickets for the shows from unofficial websites have been duped by crooks.
One victim, Sara Smith, paid $776 (£485) for six tickets for the concerts only to discover she had been conned.
She tells the Bbc, "I paid on my Visa and I only found out about eight weeks ago that I'd been scammed because I was chasing delivery of the tickets."
Another victim, Tanya Harsent, adds, "Everything just fell apart. You do try to be careful on the internet, but these guys were clever. They had people manning phones as well, for a while."
