Stevie Nicks - Stevie Nicks promises revitalised Fleetwood Mac

Stevie Nicks promises Fleetwood Mac will be revitalised when they go back on tour.

'The Chain' group are about to embark on a huge tour of the US in April and singer Stevie promises the shows will be spectacular.

She told The Guardian newspaper: ''This is going to be a very different tour. The audience is going to see a very different Fleetwood Mac up there - we talked about how we really need to appreciate what we have and who we are and how far we've come.''

Stevie, 64, also said the band have started recording tracks for a possible new album, although she didn't take part in all of the sessions as she was in mourning for her mother, who died in December 2011 after battling pneumonia and emphysema.

She said: ''I couldn't do anything - I didn't leave my house, I didn't even talk to my really good friends. I just went underground to try to deal with the fact that she wasn't supposed to go. She had emphysema after smoking for 60 years, but we all totally thought she was going to pull through.''

During the sessions - which also featured Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, and Stevie's former partner, Lindsey Buckingham - she said the latter tried to look at the songs with her perspective in mind, and when she returned to the studio she had two new tracks to sing.

She added: ''I put vocals on them and they came out great. And they really do sound like I was there.''

Stevie also said she misses former bandmate Christine McVie, who quit in 1998.

She said: ''We all did everything we could do to try and talk her out of it. But you look in someone's eyes and you can tell they're finished. As Taylor Swift would say: 'We are never ever getting back together ever!' That's what Chris was saying.

''But I'd beg, borrow and scrape together $5m and give it to her in cash if she would come back. That's how much I miss her.''
