Steven Tyler's Scarf Becomes Overnight Sensation
A report from Worcester Telegram & Gazette tells how Tyler arrived at the stadium - ahead of the Afc Championship match between the Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens - with his fiancee Erin Brady and took a shine to the scarf, which was being proudly worn by its maker, Kerry MCCormack. Kerry works in the reception area of the administration building (as well as running a small craft business, Kerry's Kreations) and was more than happy to lend her sequin-spangled accessory to the Aerosmith singer, whilst he sang 'Star Spangled Banner.' To thank her for the loan, Tyler signed the scarf for her, which now reads "Kerry, I owe you. Steven Tyler." True to his word, Tyler returned the scarf after the match.
Once the identity of the scarf-maker had been revealed, Ms. MCCormack awoke to more emails that she could "ever imagine" and added, on her Facebook status "My Patriots scarf has become an overnight sensation! Since I am one person, and can only glue so fast, it will be impossible for me to fill all these orders, but will try to respond to everyone." Kerry is hoping to be able to donate proceeds from making the scarves to benefit one of the charitable foundations supported by Myra Kraft, the late wife of the club's owner, Robert Kraft. The Patriots own the logo, so she would not be able to make the scarves for a profit. It looks like the American Idol judge can turn more than just singers into stars.
