Steven Spielberg: 'War Horse Is A British Film'
Steven Spielberg believes 'War Horse' is his "first British film"
The Academy Award winning film director, who has been in the business for over forty years, says that his new movie 'War Horse' is the first truly British film he has ever made.
Steven told BANG Showbiz: "This film could only have been shot in England. This is a British film. This is the most British film I've ever made. After I heard the reaction last night at the Odeon in Leicester Square, I realised that I'd made my first British film with War Horse. Through and through."
Steven says that one of the reasons he decided to direct 'War Horse' was because of his 15-year-old daughter and her love for horses.
He said: "My daughter Destry had a lot to do with me directing War Horse. She's a competitive rider, she's 15 now and she's been competitively riding for 11 years. We live with horses, we have 10 at home. Even before I went to London and saw the play and cried because I loved it so much, Destry said 'You have to do' War Horse', you have to make it for me."
