Steve Martin Used Art Connections To Find Sir Paul Mccartney
The Parenthood comedian and keen art collector wanted to team up with the former Beatles legend for his band, Steve Martin & The Steep Canyon Rangers' recent album Rare Bird Alert.
Despite both being icons in their field, Martin struggled to contact MCCartney - until he called on his arty pals for help.
Martin tells Q magazine, "He sings a song (Best Love) on our new album. He said he liked it. I asked Paul because he has a sincerity and a sense of humour, which made him right for the song.
"I'd only met him two or three times before, but I got an email address for him through the world of art collecting. The art collecting world is like a web."
