Steve Carell believes a sequel to 'Get Smart' will be made if a good enough script can be written.
Steve Carell believes 'Get Smart 2' will get made.
The 47-year-old star - who played agent Maxwell Smart in the 2008 comedy alongside Anne Hathaway and Dwayne Johnson - believes a follow-up will be made, providing an adequate script can be written.
He said: "That's maybe somewhere down the line as well. That's sort of on the back-burner. I took a pass at the script for it. We'll see. That was fun to do. But I think to make another one, it would have to be really good. I wouldn't want to do one for the sake of doing one. I'd want to try to make it pretty special."
The Hollywood joker also admits he is not in a hurry to make more family-friendly movies as he enjoys the roles he is offered.
He told Hollywood.com: "I've just based my decisions on the scripts that I thought were the strongest and would be potentially fun to do.
Steve will soon be back on cinema screens following the release of comedy 'Dinner for Schmucks' alongside Paul Rudd and David Walliams.
The movie will be in thetres internationally throughout the summer.
