Stereophonics are to combine their new album with a film.
The 'Dakota' group are working on a "really ambitious" project for their eighth album, which they have compared to The Who's 'Quadrophenia' - a rock opera project which detailed battles between different youth movements the Mods and the Rockers in the 60s, which was later turned into a movie.
Frontman Kelly Jones said: "What we're trying to with this album is combine with a film.
"It's a really ambitious project, we haven't done it before. We've always loved stuff like 'Quadrophenia' and all the stuff like that so we're trying to do something that's a bit outside of the box really, rather than just a single on the radio and going on with all the same stuff.
"It's our eighth album so we're trying to do something a bit bigger."
Earlier this year, Kelly told how they had started sessions for the follow up to 2009's 'Keep Calm and Carry On' and had been recording in Europe.
He told BANG Showbiz: "The album is really good so far. We've been in the studio for a few weeks and we're off to Europe next week to do some more recording.
"The style is a bit different, we're doing some stuff for films so you'll have to wait and see."
