Stereophonics - Stereophonics: 'Music And Sport Go Hand In Hand'

Stereophonics' Kelly Jones thinks ''music and sport go hand in hand.''

The 'Dakota' singer is excited about the Olympics in London and although many people are complaining about it now, he knows when it starts, they will come together.

He told The Sun newspaper: ''Most people are complaining about the Olympics on a daily basis but I think people want to complain up to the point it happens and then it will turn into a national frenzy of goodness.

''Sport, whether it's the soccer World Cup, the European Championships or the cricketing Six Nations Grand Slam gives people an event to focus on. It pulls people together.''

Stereophonics will perform at the 2012 Olympic games Opening Ceremony in London's Hyde Park next Friday (27.07.12) alongside Duran Duran, Paolo Nutini, Snow Patrol and a host of other British stars, including a special one off performance from Spice Girls.

The music which is performed in the Opening Ceremony will be available digitally for the first time in Olympic history this year, going on sale just after the event is complete.

'Isles of Wonder - Music for the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games' will be released just after midnight in the early hours of next Saturday (28.07.12).

The soundtrack to the opening ceremony has been devised by director Danny Boyle and dance music duo Underworld.

Danny has previously said the ceremony's theme has been inspired by 'Isles of Wonder' speech in Shakespeare play 'The Tempest'.

Similarly 'A Symphony of British Music - Music For The Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games' will be released straight after the games' closing ceremony on August 12.
