Stephen King - Stephen King To Write Walking Dead Script?

Stephen King may pen a script for the Amc zombie series 'The Walking Dead'.Stephen King, the acclaimed horror writer, is currently in negotiations to write an episode of the 'The Walking Dead', reports OnTheRedCarpet.comThe veteran writer is in talks to co-write an episode with his son Joe Hill, but the status of discussions is currently unknown. Frank Darabont, the show's executive producer, has reportedly expressed an interest in King penning an episode for the upcoming second season, or possibly the third. Darabont and King have a long history of collaboration, Frank directed and wrote the screenplays for the 1994 multi-award winning movie 'The Shawshank Redemption' and the 1999 movie 'The Green Mile', both of which are based on novels by the horror writer. The first season of 'The Walking Dead' starred Andrew Lincoln as 'Rick Grimes', a sheriff's deputy who leads a small group of survivors travelling across the desolate United States of America after a zombie apocalypse. The show was generally praised by critics and received large audience figures. The second season is expected to air in the fall of 2011.
Stephen King is currently working on a number of short stories for television adaptations. His novel 'The Talisman', about a boy who enters a parallel world, is being adapted into a television mini-series and will premiere later this year.
