Stephen Hawking To Debut 'New Voice' On The Big Bang Theory
Metro revealed that Hawking had been invited onto the show previously but had been forced to turn the offer down, as he had been too ill to take part. The scientist no longer uses the robotic voice with which he has become synonymous. His new voice synthesizer will be revealed when he appears on the sitcom. The Big Bang Theory has previously featured guest appearances from Summer Glau and Wil Wheaton. The scriptwriters have previously made mention of Hawking, when Howard Wolowitz (played by Simon Helberg) left a voicemail on Sheldon's phone, pretending to be the 70 year-old author of A Brief History of Time. The message said "I wish to discuss your theory of black holes. Meet me at Randy's Donuts."
The Big Bang Theory has been running since 2007 and also stars Johnny Galecki (previously of Roseanne fame) as Leonard Hofstadter, Kunal Nyyar as Raj Koothrappali and Kaley Cuoco as Penny. The sitcom centres around a group of socially awkward physicists and their encounters with the world outside of their academia.| Comment on this article |
