Stephen Fry Explains Comments With Twitter Return
Fry had used his Twitter page to vent his fury at how he had been portrayed in the interview, telling his followers, "So some paper misquotes a humorous interview I gave, which itself misquoted me and now I'm the Antichrist. I give up". In the Attitude interview, Fry had been quoted as saying, "If women liked sex as much as men, there would be straight cruising areas in the way there are gay cruising areas", which was met with angry responses from feminist groups.
However, after brief period without tweeting, Fry resumed normal service on his page today (4th November 2010), posting a link to a blog which he had written to explain his comments. In the piece, the 44-year-old says he had a 'conversation' with a profiler after a photo-shoot and did not think his words would be put into print.
