Stars To Honour Maccoll With Charity Gig

Rockers including SHANE MACGOWAN, BILLY BRAGG, and JOHNNY MARR are set to mark tragic singer KIRSTY MACCOLL's birthday with a concert in aid of her charity fund.
The Fairytale of New York vocalist died in 2000 after she was struck by a speedboat off the coast of Mexico during a holiday.
MACColl would have turned 51 on 10 October (10) - and a group of her friends and former collaborators are to honour the date with a charity concert in London.
Marr, who worked with MACColl when he was in The Smiths, Bragg - whose song A New England was covered by MACColl - and The Pogues frontman MACGowan will be joined at the event by a host of other stars including David Gray, Ellie Goulding, Kim Wilde, and Amy MACDonald.
All performers will cover one of MACColl's songs during the concert.
The show, at the U.K. capital's O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, will raise money for the Music Fund for Cuba, a charity set up in MACColl's honour which aims to encourage the development of the performing arts on the Caribbean island.
