Stars Prepare For Celebrity Idol Editionby Contributor | 24 April 2007
Some of the world's hottest stars are lining up to take part in a special celebrity edition of American Idol for charity.
American Idol Gives Back is a two-night extravaganza which hopes to raise cash for the victims of Hurricane Katrina which battered parts of the US's deep south in 2005 as well as raising money for children's charities in Africa.
Desperate Housewives star Terri Hatcher and Oscar-winning Last King of Scotland actor Forest Whitaker will both take to the stage to try to impress the judges and, no doubt, an audience of millions across the globe.
And the Brits are out in full-force too. Although they will have to face the possible wrath of fellow countryman and judge Simon Cowell, actress Helena Bonham Carter, Pirates of the Caribbean star Keira Knightley, Harry Potter (aka Daniel Radcliffe) and Love Actually actor Hugh Grant are all expected to grace the stage.
Famous faces from the world of pop will complete the line-up, including Pink, Gwen Stefani, previous Idol winner Kelly Clarkson and Celine Dion, while other famous faces will persuade viewers to donate to charity.
Comedian Ellen DeGeneres will co-host the events after positive reviews from her hosting of the (very long) Oscars ceremony this year.
