Matthew Mcconaughey - Stars Planning Moment Of Silence For Sandy Hook School Victims

Actors Matthew Mcconaughey and Jada Pinkett Smith are calling on fans to pay tribute to the lives lost in the tragic Connecticut school shooting last week by holding a moment of silence this Friday (21Dec12).

Eva Longoria and supermodel Tyra Banks have also vowed to take part in the remembrance, a week after gunman Adam Lanza massacred 20 kids and six staffmembers at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown (14Dec12).

The stars retweeted the message: "Join me in observing a #momentforSandyHook victims, in silence, this Friday at 9:30am Et", and Pinkett Smith added, "May tomorrow also be in remembrance of all of those who have lost lives to senseless violence. #momentforSandyHook"

Lanza, 20, is also believed to have killed his own mother before turning the gun on himself.
