Melanie C - Stars Get Running For Charity
Pop star Melanie Chisholm and Scottish actor David Tennant were among the stars who donned their running shoes to jog a mile for charity on Sunday (25Mar12).
The former Spice Girl and the ex-Doctor Who star joined Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron and hit the streets to raise funds for Sport Relief.
Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh and boyband Jls were also spotted sprinting at various races held across the U.K. for the annual fundraiser, which benefits disadvantaged people in the U.K. and worldwide.
At the finish line, Chisholm told reporters, "To make raising money for something so awful so much fun is great. I will be feeling good when I get my breath back."
Tennant added, "What a fantastic day. It's so amazing to see thousands of people out here doing the mile in this gorgeous sunshine. I've seen the difference money raised by the public can make and it really is life-changing."
It was Chisholm's second outing for Sport Relief - last Thursday (22Mar12), the singer formerly known as Sporty Spice ran a mile on a treadmill for the cause.
A star-studded Sport Relief telethon, broadcast in the U.K. over the weekend (23-25Mar12), pulled in a record $80 million (£50 million) in donations.
