Nate Dogg - Stars Gather To Say Farewell To Nate Dogg
Nate Dogg was laid to rest yesterday (26th March) following the rapper's sudden passing on March 15th.
The funeral for Nate Dogg, most famously remembered for his collaboration with Warren G on 'Regulate', was held in his home town of Long Beach - California. Some of the biggest names in West Coast hip-hop were in attendance, including Dr Dre, The Game and Snoop Dogg. The hour long service was held at the Queen Mary Dome, which was packed out with over 1,000 mourners according to E! Online.
Snoop Dogg gave a moving personal tribute to his friend, who he met as a teenager in Long Beach: "1986, Poly High School, that's where we connected for the first time. We didn't know each other, but the music connected us. We built a brotherhood, a friendship."
Along with Warren G and Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg formed the trio 213, who had remained lifelong friends. Separately they had gone onto make some of the most pioneering records of the G Funk genre.
Nate Dogg had suffered from strokes in 2007 and 2008, contributing to health complications that resulted in his death. He was 41 years old.
