Chris Moyles - Stars Pay Homage To Chris Moyles As He Exits The Beeb
STARS PAY HOMAGE TO Chris Moyles AS HE EXITS THE BEEB
Chris Moyles has been a mainstay for the BBC for years now, and his exit has caused a number of stars to come out in praise of the broadcaster. Moyles performed his penultimate show in front of a live audience, with performances from Rizzle Kicks and Pixie Lott.
“I'm always on the edge of my seat that he might say or do something wrong. Even if it's not what's he's supposed to do, he's always stayed true to himself," said Davina Mccall, another of the live show’s guests. Chris Moyles has hosted the breakfast show on Radio 1 since 2004 but is handing it over to another DJ at the station, Nick Grimshaw. James Corden was also sad to see Moyles depart, but feels the presenter can be proud. "I'm sure if someone had told him when he started the things he would have achieved whilst being here, he would have taken that,” the Gavin & Stacey star confirmed. "There should be no sadness, he should just be incredibly proud."
Chris Moyles has always been outspoken, and his time with the BBC hasn’t been without its controversies; in 2010 he embarked on a rant against his employers, claiming he had not been paid, before announcing, rather unceremoniously, that he had taken a pay cut of 20 per cent due to cuts at the BBC. Perhaps most would consider it churlish to speak of such matters, especially considering his lofty wage, even before the tirade, but Chris clearly didn’t. Perhaps it’s part of his odd, candid charm.
