Star Trek Doohan Set For Space In October
Doohan, who played the starship Enterprise's chief engineer SCOTTY in the hit sci-fi series, was to have his remains launched last year (05) but the mission was delayed to allow more tests on the rocket.
Now Houston-based commercial company Space Services confirm the launch will take place in October, along with the ashes of 100 other people, including astronaut GORDON COOPER.
A spokeswoman for the company, SUSAN SCHONFELD, said thousands of mourners were expected to pay their final respects on the day, many dressed in Star Trek costumes.
She said, "Fan clubs from all over the world, including as far away as Africa, they're ready."
Doohan died last year (05) aged 85.
