America's annual MACy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City was marred by tragedy after two men died during the festivities.
Thousands of spectators turned out to see stars including Carly Rae Jepsen, British boyband The Wanted and rapper Flo Rida perform on floats as part of the event in Manhattan.
However, it has now emerged that the day ended in tragedy - 67-year-old Robert Blasetti, who was dressed as a clown, collapsed in the crowd after suffering a fatal heart attack. Pictures from the parade show his wife desperately trying to save him by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (Cpr).
Additionally, civilian New York Police Department worker Charles Sutton, 58, collapsed as he hooked up a car to be towed off the parade route. Both men were taken to Roosevelt Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead, according to the New York Post.
MACy's spokesman Orlando Veras says, "We are saddened to report that a marcher in the MACy's Parade suffered a medical emergency."
