Bruce Springsteen - Springsteen Plays Gig In Memory Of Clemons
Bruce Springsteen played an emotional tribute concert in memory of his late friend and E Street Band member Clarence Clemons in New Jersey on Sunday night (17Jul11).
The Boss was left devastated when the 69-year-old saxophonist passed away last month (Jun11) after suffering complications following a stroke, and he gave a moving eulogy at his funeral in Florida.
The rock veteran took to the stage at the tiny Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, New Jersey on Sunday to perform at the Tribute to the Late, Great Clarence Clemons night, which also featured J.T. Bowen - the lead singer of Clemons' 1980s band The Red Bank Rockers, who sang with the Soul Cruisers - and Clemons' son Nick Clemons, who opened the show with his group.
Springsteen performed a 45-minute set at the intimate venue and played songs including, Action in the Streets, Raise Your Hand and Knock On Wood, according to the The Star-Ledger.
