American football star Aaron Hernandez has been indicted on first-degree murder.
A grand jury in Connecticut will formally accuse the former New England Patriots tight end of killing former friend Odin Lloyd on Thursday (22Aug13).
The 23 year old has pleaded not guilty and has remained behind bars without bail since 26 June (13).
Lloyd's bullet-ridden body was found at an industrial park in Massachusetts in January (13).
Prosecutors have accused Hernandez of orchestrating his death. He also faces five weapons and ammunition charges. If convicted, he could find himself behind bars without parole for the rest of his life.
